Artist Builds Insane Mercedes Benz Replica Out Of Nothing But Bricks

If you’re a fan of BuzzNick, you probably know by now that we love pretty much all things art. More than that, we love unique art. You know, art that isn’t traditional or mainstream. To grab our attention the piece has to stand out and requires some creative thinking. We enjoy pieces of art that are born from thinking outside of the box. There is an artist based out of China named Dai Yun. Now we’ve seen a lot of replica or kit cars such as the Lamborghini or the McLaren that were made by hand by some very talented people but this replica takes things to a totally different level. Dai Yun is a master brick sculptor who works at the Shenzhen Public Art Center. He has completely replicated a Mercedes-Benz to scale using only red brick, mortar, and a little glass. This isn’t the only car he has sculpted out of brick. Take a look at the BMW z4 at the bottom of this post as well.

I’d imagine this is probably an incredibly safe car but the gas mileage would be questionable. I kid, the car does not drive however the windows do work and the doors do open.

The Benz is sculpted entirely out of brick and mortar minus the windows, making it weigh in at roughly 6 tons!

Considering the medium that he used, this thing is incredibly detailed.

It goes to show you just how talented Dai Yun really is. Many brick layers can’t even put up a curved wall, let alone a perfectly scaled Mercedes.

His sculptures are not cheap by any means. In fact it would be a lot cheaper to buy the real thing than to commission Yun for one of these cars. He was asking roughly $90,000 for the BMW Z4 he created. Even if you did shell out the cash for a brick sculpture of a car, how would you haul it home?

The interior is complete and mimics a real Mercedes perfectly other than the color and texture. The steering wheel and the seats are even made of brick and mortar.

The thing that blows my mind is that this thing is over 12,000 pounds yet the doors open. They have to weigh a few hundred pounds each at the bare minimum.

Here is the BMW Z4 that he made using only brick, mortar, and a little glass.

This sculpture weighs in at over 6.5 tons and is said to be worth over $90,000. It is unique but I don’t think I’d be spending that kind of cash on it when I could buy a few real ones for that price.

You do have to respect the talent here. I imagine that it’s not that easy to make the curves and minute details out of brick and mortar.

At least the owner won’t have to worry about people dinging their doors or rock chips on the paint.

I truly respect the talent here. To take something that is normally used to create squared structures and completely replicate a beautiful curvy car to perfect proportions is seriously difficult. The detail in the wheels alone is impressive, let alone the entire interior. I would love to see the doors operate in person and even have a seat in one of these luxurious rides. With that kind of price tag though, I’ll just look from a distance. You won’t find a brick Mercedes-Benz in my driveway or yard anytime soon.
