Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror and just been really dissatisfied with what’s standing in front of you? You know you could look and feel better, but with the everyday realities of life you just haven’t done anything to reach goals. Maybe you haven’t even gotten to the point of setting goals. It’s a real problem for a lot of people in the world today. Whether it is the inability to do anything or just the lack of motivation to do anything, bettering yourself physically can be a real challenge. For a man from Watford, England it took seeing a picture of himself to realize he needed to start taking his health more seriously, and boy did he ever. Check out this incredible 4 month body transformation and see if it helps inspire you to better yourself.
This is Neale Maher from Watford, England.
He is a brick layer who never really paid attention to his health or appearance.
Neale was on holiday in Portugal when a friend snapped this picture of him. He saw it and became really appalled by how pale and un-toned he was. He saw all these fit and in-shape men while on the beach one night and started to think “Why can’t that be me?”
When Neale got home from his holiday he started reading up on weight lifting and joined a local gym. He hired a trainer named Martyn Burrows, who had his work cut out for him.
Neale had 20% body fat and a body mass index of 25. He would enjoy eating and drinking regularly, without a thought of what it was doing to his body. With the help of his trainer though, he slowly started to transform himself.
Martyn Burrows had Neale on a very specific diet. He had Neale on a high protein, low carb diet that also included some healthy fats. Neale said he never lost any weight, but gained muscle while shedding fat. He was eating up to 40 egg whites a day at one point. He entered his first body building competition 4 months after he started his training and took second place.
Since then, he has completely transformed his body. He doesn’t even look like the same person. His training regime when he first started lifting consisted of 30 minutes of cardio, followed by 45 minutes of high intensity weight training that included drop sets, super sets and high repetition workouts.
Neale completely stopped drinking alcohol and nearly cut out his nights out. He wanted to completely dedicate himself to the cause of getting healthy and gaining muscle.
He even met his girlfriend 8 months ago at the gym they both work out at.
Since starting his body transformation, he has started to compete in more and more body building shows.
He has won numerous awards for his new physical appearance and doesn’t plan on stopping anything soon. He is hoping to enter the 2016 Arnold’s In America competition.
He had a message for anyone wanting to better themselves: “Anyone with the right attitude and goal can achieve what they want. Never give up and have a positive belief about yourself. Blood, sweat and tears all the way.”
This guy put in some serious work to get where he is now. This should be an example to everyone who has ever wanted to transform their body that it really is possible. You may have to go through hell to do it, but there is no reason you can’t do it. I will put in a caveat however that this definitely took longer than 4 months to achieve. It’s physically impossible for someone to add that much muscle in 4 months. He did however go from the top picture to placing 2nd in a body building competition in 4 months however, which is still extremely impressive. This guys shows hard work can pay off in a big way. So get out there and get to work.
