We know all too well that kids will say the craziest things. Sometimes it is completely obvious that they do not have a filter and are definitely not afraid of the outcome. If you are a parent or a person that is around kids on a regular basis, you probably know the truth behind this. Maybe you have witnessed a child ask an embarrassing question or heard a conversation where a kid is brutally honest, yet hurtful at the same time. I don’t know what it is about kids, but their lack of fear can be pretty impressive. That is why when I heard the story about a young girl named Katie, whose father worked for Google, I was on the floor laughing. Katie did the unthinkable. This little girl wrote a letter to Google, a very straight to the point letter demanding something for her father. Take a look below.
The letter reads:
“Dear Google Worker,
Can you please make sure when daddy goes to work, he gets one day off. Like he can get a day off on Wednesday. Because daddy only gets a day off on Saturday.
P.S. It is daddy’s birthday!
P.P.S. It is summer, you know”
But that is not the surprising part of this story. The fact that Google took the time to respond to her letter makes it even sweeter.
Google wrote back with the following letter saying,
Thank you for your thoughtful note and request.
Your father has been hard at work designing many beautiful and delightful things for Google and millions of people across the glob.
On the occasion of his Birthday, and recognizing the importance of taking some Wednesdays off during the summer, we are giving him the whole first week of July as vacation time.

Not only did Katie’s honesty and thoughtfulness earn her and her father some extra rewards; I think it can teach us all a valuable lesson. Don’t be afraid to ask for what you want, you might be shocked with the outcome. It obviously worked out for Katie and her father all because of a little girl wrote a letter to Google.
