Town In Michigan Has A Subculture Of Tiny Doors Called ‘Fairy Doors’

In Ann Arbor, MI there is something special that very few outsiders even realize are there… mysterious tiny doors!  Ann Arbor, Michigan is covered in enchanting portals to the fairy realm. The town is scattered with “Fairy Doors” where children can leave the fairies gifts and tokens! Out of the 10 original doors throughout the town, 7 are still in existence.   This all began when children’s author, Jonathan B. Wright, built rooms for fairies in his home for his daughters in 1993 while renovating his Ann Arbor home.  After 10 years, he decided to go public and these little doors were popping up all over town at local businesses.

Jonathan B. Wright has also created a website based on these doors at urban-fairies.com and has written a children’s book called Who’s Behind The Fairy Doors?  This is so cute! It makes me want to create fairy doors and rooms in my house for my daughter!
