With so many people refusing to stay at home to avoid spread the virus, one police officer, Rajesh Babu, in India decided to take matter in his own hands. He used an unusual approach to stop people in the middle of their travels and day-to-day activities. He teamed up with a local artist named Gowtham who helped him customize the police officer’s helmet.
The artist customized the officer’s helmet using paper.
The helmet is designed to look like the coronavirus.
He took this approach to frighten people and to make people aware of the importance of staying home.
When he spoke with Asian News International, he said, “We take all the steps but still people come out on the streets. Therefore, this corona helmet is one of the steps we are taking to ensure that people are aware of the seriousness of the police. The helmet is an attempt to do something different.”
“When I wear this, the thought of coronavirus comes into the minds of the commuters. Especially, the children react strongly after seeing this and want to be taken home.”
“We had been talking to the public. But awareness among them is very less. So we thought of doing something different.”
