Sometimes you’ll hear about people at coffee shops paying for the person behind them and completely making their day. These are little snippets into people’s lives that restore our faith in humanity. But this person took the Pay It Forward movement to an entirely new level!
Meet Mason Wartman. He recently quit his job on Wall Street and started a pizza restaurant in Philadelphia called Rosa’s Fresh Pizza.
He sells his pizza for $1.00 per slice. That doesn’t seem like much of a big deal, but it’s what his customers do that make it even better!
His customers started paying it forward by paying for the pizza slice for the next person. While it made the day of his customers to have their meal paid for, this had a bit of a snowball effect.
On this wall, are tons of post it notes. It seems like he might have a lot to do, but that is not the case. These post it notes are actually Pay It Forward Notes. If a person is homeless or doesn’t have money for food, they can come to Mason’s restaurant, grab a post it note off of the wall, and get a free piece of pizza. While it wasn’t free to begin with, Mason’s customers pay for these notes to help provide food for their fellow residents of Philadelphia, some of which are homeless.
Mason’s restaurant is now providing a slice of pizza for around 40 homeless people per day. I’m sure working on Wall Street can be draining both emotionally and physically, Mason made a complete turn around by creating this one of a kind restaurant. How great would it be to see this spread across the nation!
