The Scorpionfly Exists, And They’re Just As Creepy As You’d Imagine

Insects have developed a reputation in modern society and pests that need to be exterminated. People look at them and see a creepy crawly thing with wiggling legs and big eyes. While there are plenty of insects that are complete pests (I’m looking at you mosquitos), many of them are harmless and have no desire to hurt anyone. There are few insects however that even though they are harmless, just look too scary to ever want to encounter. A man encountered one of these types of insects in his home recently, and was able to grab some pictures of this creature that looks like it came from the depths of hell with t he sole purpose of making grown men and women scream with bloody terror.

They love human flesh. In fact they need it to survive, but not in the way you might be thinking.

It actually happens so often in Texas, that forensic investigators actually look for Scorpionfly eggs in corpses to determine the time of death of the person.

Even though this thing is harmless to living humans, it is still an incredibly terrifying and should be banished back to the depths of hell where it came from. Any insect that can use a human corpse as an incubator for its larvae is surely some hell spawn bent on human destruction. If I saw one of these things in real life….I would run to the hills. Nobody wants to see a flying Scorpion.
