We all have our phobias, whether you are afraid of heights, clowns, spiders, or snakes. But what happens when two of those phobias get together to make one insanely horrific super species? That is exactly what happened with this spider-tailed viper.
This is the spider-tailed viper. As you can guess, it gets its name because of the unusual shape of its tail.
And if that first picture wasn’t enough, here is a nice close up! Just seeing these pictures, makes my skin crawl.
This is a relatively new species that was discovered in 2006. Luckily for most people, this species is only found in Iran. Looks like I’ll never be visiting Iran.
As evil as that tail looks, it isn’t all that dangerous. It uses the tail to lure in other animals, then the viper will strike.
It’s crazy how much the tail looks like a spider, until you realize it’s attached to a snake!
Watch the video below to see this creepy spider-tailed viper in action. Warning: this video will give you nightmares
I will never be going to Iran thanks to this spider-tailed viper. It has combined two of my worst fears and I hope I never see this thing in person! Hopefully nobody tries to smuggle this out of Iran anytime soon.
