Photographer Captures The Exact Moment A Squirrel Stopped To Smell Flowers

Nothing makes me happier than catching nature and wildlife in its raw form. The animal kingdom has certain instincts that we may never understand. One photographer was able to capture that when he started taking photographs of a curious squirrel. Dick Van Duijn, a Netherlands resident recently traveled to Vienna, Austria with one mission – to photograph ground squirrels in the wild.

Even though it took Van Duijn over 2 hours and 200 photos, he was able to capture the absolute perfect moment of a squirrel examining a yellow daisy.

But it made it all worth it when he was able to capture the exact moment of the squirrel pulling in the daisy to smell it.

He was also able to capture the exact moment the curious squirrel leaned in to take a bite of the daisy after smelling it.

The next photo shows the squirrel holding the flower to its chest and closing its eyes, almost as if he was taking in the scent.

He was also able to photograph the little squirrel from smelling other flowers.

He even captures more playful moments with other plants.

He said it was an incredible thing to witness and be able to photograph.

“I think people don’t spend enough time in nature because of the lifestyle we have developed in the west,” he said.

“When people are reminded about how beautiful and cute nature can be, they’ll feel better about themselves and the world around them.”

Van Duijn said he hopes these photos will inspire people to go out and visit nature more often.

“Nature is endless, so the subjects for my pictures are endless as well,” the photographer said. “You can never finish photographing all that there is to see.”

“That provides me with inspiration for a lifetime.”
