I’ve been reading comic books since I was about 8 years old. From the moment I picked one up I was completely hooked. The detail in the artwork, the writing, everything just held me fixated and fascinated. Even as the artists and writers were replaced on my favorite super heroes, I remained a loyal follower of everything comic book related. The recent surge in popularity of super hero movies has come as a surprise, but a pleasant one for me because it seems to be giving people a greater appreciation for the pieces of art that comic books are. Well this makeup artist has taken thing to another level and transferred the beautiful artwork that comes with comic books directly onto his face. He takes some of the biggest names in the comic book universe and skillfully turns his face into a canvas with extremely accurate depictions of heroes and villains alike. This requires a TON of skill and patience to get every line and detail the way he wants it. Doing it on your own face has to be a hell of a lot harder than doing it on someone else’s. Check out the photos of this man’s amazing transformations.
This is Argenis Pinal. He is makeup artist and apparently a huge comic book fan.
He has taken to using his makeup skills and transforming himself into any number of super heroes.
Argenis will bend the gender gap with his makeup work too. He isn’t afraid to take on any character and bring them to life.
The detail that he puts into each character creation is absolutely mind-blowing.
He literally doesn’t miss a thing. His use of shading is absolutely masterful and truly gives these characters the look of being on the page of a comic book.
He even does his hair to match whatever character he is modeling at the moment.
This Two Face is absolutely incredible.
Here you have a sort of step by step process of how he goes about his work.
This guy reminds me of the clown from one of the best games of my childhood, Twisted Metal.
I’m pretty sure the character on the left is Dark Phoenix, while we all know the white-haired beauty from X-Men, Rogue.
Here we have a female version of Magneto, the infamous villain in X-Men and one of the biggest thorns in his side Wolverine!
I can’t believe his face isn’t made of wood, it looks so real! I’ve never seen any interpretation of Jigsaw quite this good.
The Thing from Marvel’s Fantastic Four comic book series. Don’t bother going to see the new movie, complete waste of time.
This Joker is absolutely crazy. It seriously looks like it was ripped from a comic book panel and photoshopped to his face. The shadowing and lines are incredible. The Jokers main girl, Harley Quinn, is equally impressive.
The solo Wolverine shot is my favorite. If you were into comic books, Wolverine is one of the most iconic characters out there. Such a great representation of him.
This series of photos is really incredible to me. Growing up a comic book nerd, bringing the characters to life was always such a cool concept, but I would have never had the vision or creativity to do something like this. The skills Argenis possesses are pretty incredible. I’ve never seen superhero face paint look this good.
