Graffiti Artist Uses Nothing But Spray Paint To Make Walls Appear Transparent

For as long as I can remember, street artists have been looked down upon. Graffiti is a form of art where artists use spray paint to place their vision in the public where as many people as possible can see it. Sometimes it is a name or a cartoon. Other times it’s something the public just doesn’t want to see. The issue most people have is that the art is usually placed on public areas that were not intended for art. This has given graffiti artists a bad name over the years but there’s a Portuguese artist who goes by the name VILE who is standing out from the crowd of graffiti artists. He has introduced a technique that people are actually enjoying. He’s very good at grabbing his audience’s attention by carving his name into any surrounding with a can of paint. But his street art allows us to see through walls that most people wouldn’t even notice.

VILE whose real name is Rodrigo Miguel Sepúlveda Nunes lives in Portugal and started honing his craft when he was just 14 years old. He fell in love with graffiti and dove deep into studying cartoon and animation films, drawing, illustrations, tattoos and other medias of colorful art.

One of the reasons people don’t usually appreciate graffiti is because people can have a tendency to take away from the natural surroundings. With the world as a background, VILE has figured out a way to blend into his surroundings.

Graffiti has come a long way over the years and as an art lover, I love seeing the direction that it’s heading. It still holds its raw form by utilizing obscure canvases around communities that everyone can see but it is moving in a direction that is more about the talent and the art rather than just displaying your name in hard to reach areas.
