Here’s A Magnificent Smoke-Breathing Godzilla Christmas Tree That You Can Make Yourself

Christmas is loved around the entire world. Every single year there are a few traditional things that pretty much everyone on the planet takes part in. One of those is decorating a Christmas tree. The tradition is centuries old and always seems to follow the same theme. Well, Steven Newland of Rotorua, New Zealand was tired of seeing the same tree year after year. He decided to take things into his own hands and break tradition with a Godzilla themed tree. And no I don’t mean he found or decorated a tree with Godzilla ornaments. I mean, he actually made a Godzilla replica tree that has some incredible special features! Take a look below and wait until he turns it on!

He started out with Christmas trees, wire, a couple cans of paint and a fog machine.

The talent really shines when you see how well he shaped the giant lizard’s body. This Godzilla tree is definitely one-of-a-kind. That’s a lot of bows to add!

This is where things start to get really special. He fitted the head of the Godzilla tree with a fog machine. That’s right, this tree is going to blow smoke.

“I got the idea from my 4-year-old nephew who loves dinosaurs,” explained Newland. “I thought I could do a dinosaur tree, but why stop there?  If it could also breathe smoke, it would make it amazing!”

Steven aptly named the tree Treezilla. He utilized a couple presents to hide the stand that’s required due to the shape of Treezilla.

Treezilla was recently auctioned off for roughly $270 U.S. dollars which is a steal in my opinion. A portion of the proceeds went towards a charity supporting young people with cancer.

Take a look at Treezilla in action in Steven’s YouTube video below.

This isn’t Steven Newland’s first unique Christmas tree. Take a look at others he’s done in previous years below.

The supplies he used were mostly just household items such as chicken wire, a weedmat, plastic teeth, paper claws, Christmas lights, and four different fir trees. For added effect, it was equipped with a fog machine that is controlled remotely and refillable using fog machine fluid.

Well it’s obvious that Steven Newland is no amateur when it comes to awesome Christmas tree creations. Rumor has it that he is incorporating an entire ceiling fan into next year’s tree. We’re excited to see what he comes up with! We love unique Christmas ideas or people who take decorations to a new level.
