Couple Spends 20 Years Building A Self-Sustaining, Floating Island And It’s Awesome

Lately it seems as though people all over the world are utilizing their small spaces, and coming up with new ideas to help with pollution and downsize their lives. People are focusing on using materials from natural lands and creating undeniably beautiful homes. We have seen people turn storage units into a living space, create a fantasy house with the start of a rock, and downsizing to under 400 square feet of living space. This new-found passion is taking over the world, and not one of these people, so far, has regretted their decision. The next couple I would like to showcase is one that has created an incredible, one of a kind, home for them. The kicker is that their entire home is floating on water off the border of Vancouver Island in British Columbia.

Together this incredible couple has made a beautiful floating home that is practically self-sufficient. They do this by growing their own crops, using nature for their water, and having the home function on solar power. They are proud of the 19 hard years of work that went into creating this one of a kind home. Away from the hustle and bustle of city life, enjoying the beauty that surrounds them, would you be able to live like this?
